Radio interview about identity theft on SR 3
On 17th June, SR 3 broadcast a radio report on the subject of "Fraud in my name – the consequences of identity theft". Both Prof. Borges and Andreas Sesing, a research assistant at the Institute of Legal Informatics, were interviewed for this report.
Career path between Law and IT
Matthias Grabmair will visit the Institute of Legal Informatics on Monday, 11th June. The highlight of his visit are his lecture on "Search, Read, Argue and Predict: An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Law" and a personal report from "a German law student to American IT researcher – career path between Law and IT".
GDPR! Practical application of Data Protection
Since 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation has been directly applicable in all EU Member States. The Saarland's Ministry of Justice, the Saarland University's Institute of Legal Informatics, the Independent Data Protection Centre of the Saarland as well as the Saarland's Chamber of Industry and Commerce lit "lecture fireworks" on this special day. The Institute at the University Open Day 2018
The Institute of Legal Informatics presented itself with its own stand to the visitors of the Saarland University’s Open Day on 26th May 2018 under the heading of "Experiment: accidents involving robotic cars". The large number of interested visitors could participate actively in the experiment or could inform themselves about the Institute's extensive project work and study opportunities.
Münster Colloquium on EU Law and the Digital Economy
The Münster Colloquium on EU Law and the Digital Economy took place in Münster on 12th and 13th April 2018. The main theme of the colloquium was "Liability for Robotics and in the Internet of Things". Prof. Dr. Georg Borges lectured on the subject of "New liability concepts: the potential of insurance and compensation funds".
