What options are available to data subjects if their data has been misused? How do supervisory authorities determine the amount of fine in the event of a breach? were among the topics discussed by attorney Jan Spittka on February 2nd as part of the public lecture series "Data Protection in Practice". More than 150 participants followed the insightful presentation entitled "The Enforcement of the GDPR in Practice" online.

The enforcement of the GDPR in practice will be the topic of Tuesday's lecture, on February 2nd. The speaker will be Jan Spittka. From 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., the Counsel of the international law firm DLA Piper will be the guest speaker of the public online lecture series "Data Protection in Practice". On January 26th, more than 170 participants followed the lecture "Data transfer to third-party countries - a fall from grace? Schrems II and its consequences". Throughout his presentation on the topic of data transfer and access to third-party countries, Prof. Dr. Dieter Kugelmann, State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate, evoked a lot of questions from interested audience members. 

On January 27thProfessor Georg Borges spoke at the international "Conference on Shaping a globally secure Industrie 4.0 Ecosystem". Under the heading "The automation of trust in industrial contractual relationships", he and Benjamin Korth from Fraunhofer IML presented the latest research findings of the "Legal-Testbed Industry 4.0" project, which is now receiving further funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
