Civil Law, Legal Informatics, German and International Business Law and Legal Theory

The Chair of Civil Law, Legal Informatics, German and International Business Law and Legal Theory has been held by Prof. Dr. Georg Borges since the summer semester of 2014. Prof. Dr. Borges is the successor of Prof. Dr. Maximilian Herberger. The Institute’s  principal areas of research are civil and business law issues relating to the internet, including the cross-border aspects thereof, as well as Data Protection Law, Commercial Law (in particular Banking Law) and Corporate Law. Current projects involve looking at issues relating to the laws of Cloud Computing, Industry 4.0 and eJustice/eGovernment.
