Contract guide for Industry 4.0 platforms
On October 7, following the presentation of the model contract in May of this year, Professor Dr. Georg Borges and other experts presented a contract guide for Industry 4.0 platforms. This contract guide is an interim result of working group 4 "Legal Framework" of the Legal-Testbed project. The UAG Legal-Testbed has formulated conditions of participation in an Industry 4.0 platform that aim to balance regulations between operators and users.
EDV-Gerichtstag: Judiciary and digital media
"Man or machine - Who will shape the future of law application?" was the motto of the 30th German Conference on IT in the Judiciary, which was held as a digital event. From September 22 to 24, legal scholars, computer scientists and experts from the fields of business, politics and administration exchanged ideas on artificial intelligence in the judiciary. Alongside the event programme, the Institute of Legal Informatics provided insights into its current research projects.
WebTalk: AI- Regulation made in Europe
The increasing implementation of artificial intelligence into industrial and social settings requires legal regulation. Even after the publication of the first legal framework for AI by the EU Commission, industry and science are facing legal challenges. On September 14, Professor Dr. Georg Borges addressed the potential of testing and certification procedures for AI systems in his Webtalk under the heading "Safe AI systems through certification?". Consumer law days 2021
Artificial intelligence: how to achieve trustworthy usage in Germany and Europe? was the motto of the Consumer Law Days on July 12. The conference, that is held by the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) since 2015, addresses current issues of consumer law and aims to develop ideas for key topics in the field. Professor Georg Borges was part of the distinguished panel.
Smart products at the center of the Münster Colloquium
On June 11, Professor Georg Borges gave a lecture on topic of "Liability for smart products which develop after being put on the market" at the 6th Münster Colloquium. The main topic of the colloquium was the legal issues surrounding smart products. The online event was organized by the Center for European Private Law at the University of Münster.
